About Houston, Texas
Houston is a port city. It’s the fourth largest city in the United States. If you’re visiting, there are specific attractions you must see. A number of museums are found in the Museum District. There’s the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Holocaust Museum, The Houston Museum of Natural Science, and a Children’s Museum of Houston to name four. Among the parks, there are Hermann Park, Buffalo Bayou Park, and soon Discovery Green, which will be a wi-fi park near the Brown Convention Center.
Houston’s public art downtown includes work by Jean DuBuffet, Mel Chin, and Tony Cragg. Also, the architect, Phillip Johnson, created a number of must-see buildings around the downtown area. One of these is the Bank of America Center. If you like to shop when you’re out of town, go to the Woodlands’ Market Street, the Galleria, and Rice Village. For a fine bite to eat, try to remember the midtown restaurant, t’afia, Café Annie’s has been important since the 1980s. If you like steaks, try Vic and Anthony’s, Morton’s, or the Capital Grille.
The Johnson Space Center will please you if you remember the NASA space missions of the 1960s and 1970s. At the Downtown Aquarium, you can ride on a train through a shark tank.
