Phobia is fun. We saw 3 houses.
The woods, 3D clowns (with special glasses)
and the mental hospital one. They opened last week for a special night after Halloween. Very cool. It was not crowded at all. All those strange monsters walking around the property was cool. Me likes!
Pros: Really Big - Pretty Scareey
Cons: 290 is far away from my house

Phobia on 290 was our last stop this Halloween.
We saw The Trails (sucked) last week. Screamworld (ok but not that great) a few weeks ago and Nightmare (don't bother). Phobia was our favorite. It was very muddy from all the rain Friday. The parking lot was bad, but so was our yard., so they should try to fix that if possible. I liked the Dark Instute and Claustraphobia. My friend liked the woods and the Clown one more. The actors were very good and I liked all the mechanical props. I know the 31st is the rookie night, but it was the only night we could all go. They should open more nights. Worth the trip. We all agreed - Thumbs up. We wore old shoes that were muddy from everywhere else! I'll go back next year for sure.
Pros: Very Large - Many Choices - Pretty Good
Cons: Crowded - Not Cheap
Not What I expected!!

Im very disappointed about this so highly talked about Phobia haunted house. For all the money that is made off of this function, you would think they would have their parking lot fixed. My family and I went yesterday 10/31 and when we stepped out of the car we stepped in complete mud.. mud .. mud.. mud was everywhere. Then we had to walk accoss the muddy lot to the ticket booth to purchase tickets where young high school kids were hanging out and seemed as if there were little people there over the age ... then we had to walk back across to get to the house we wanted to go to and again through all the mud. Our shoes we so so messed up it was sad and unbelievable. Now as for the houses .. they were cool.. funny..just a little teeny weeny scary!! lol
But why did they have young kids in costumes and standing in the walkways of the house to scare you.. how when i can see you ahead of me... I SEE YOU FOOL!! that is not going to scare me if i see you standing in the hallways and screaming and banging and chanting right there in front of me.. they would try to scare you when they are right there and they know we see them... this was just pure not what i expected!!! come better than this if you are going to charge all that money!!!! Dont waste your money... im lookin at these reviews and you guys must work there or known these people.. there is no way that this place is all that and then some.. no way!!! find something else to do. or they need to revamp that place.. my son did like it but he was like that was not scary i could see the people standing and scaing the people in front of me..... go figure. peace CAli Love babe
Pros: alright haunted house
Cons: parking lot completely muddy, too costly

The location was more difficult to find than I thought; the sign is not very prominent. The entrance really set the mood-- creepy winding road surrounded by trees and props. It had rained, so the parking lot was somewhat muddy, but fortunately, they have indoor houses.
I tried the Mind Control house (insane asylum). It was basically just a dark room with narrow, winding halls and actors in masks jumping out at you. I excepted more props/decor or something bloodier. I didn't find it scary (I don't get spooked easily, though), but the other people in the house were screaming through the whole thing. I am still curious about the other houses, so I will probably go back anyway.
It took us about 10 mins to go through the house and we were walking pretty slow.
Parking is free.
Pros: indoor houses, atm, fast lines
Cons: muddy parking lot, not very scary

Went through all 3 houses 10/9/09. Only 1 was scary & that was Darke World. All 3 houses rely on the same scare tactic....someone jumps out at you around EVERY corner....so by halfway through, you KNOW someone is going to jump out around EVERY corner. That pretty much takes away the suspense. Since there were no lines, we went through each house in about 5 minutes. Totally not worth the money. We left here & went to Dungeon of Doom at the Kemah Boardwalk. THAT haunted house was WAY cheaper & a LOT scarier.
Pros: No lines, plenty of mall parking (not in a muddy field)
Cons: Overpriced & not scary
