Houston Heights Charter School Reviews

My child just started in January since then every time we have a question its always answer it seems the office know the kids by name. My child is doing excellent.

My daughter is graduating with nearly an 1800 on her SAT scores and will be attending UT. This high school has met her educational endeavors for this level of education. Mr. Zapata the registrar and his staff have always been most accomodating and supportive. You are somebody in this high school, not just a number. Many trips to visiting colleges are offered. Not a school for jocks, but one -on -one academics is available.

I have a son in his 3rd year at Houston Heights and while they lack in extracurricular activities (they have some) this is not important to many kids. My son has no interest in sports team. He is all about the computer. He loves the school and stays out of trouble. The school has a zero tolerance policy for drugs and misbehaviour. The Principal is excellent, as is the majority of the teachers.

When my son started at Houston Heights, every staff member was enthusiastic and excited about helping him realize his goals. They were committed to their jobs and more importantly to the students. I always felt so welcome when I came by to talk to staff members. With their perseverance and commitment, Houston Heights High School helped my son and so many others to graduate. We will never forget them! Patty Mehmood

The school always kept me informed with information regarding my children. I was impressed and satisfied with the classes and activities offered and the way the school was run. I was also impressed with the college field trips, tutoring, and TAKS tutoring. -William Smith Parent

Houston Heights has been a blessing for my family. The local schools are not a place where I would like to send my children. The school is big into technology. The whole school is wireless. They have like 300 laptops, which is enough for each student. The teachers are great with the students. Mr. Zapata, the AP, works wonders with the student's discipline. He has tighten up on the sagging pants that seems to be the fad these days. I have not experienced any disrespect the times I have been at the school. The school teaches respect. Mr. Zapata welcomes all parents to the school, so feel free to stop by to look in on classes.

Kids are disrespectful, they walk around with baggy pants that are gang related clothing, drugs are everywhere and there are few extra curricular activites. No Music and No football.
