Immanuel Lutheran School Reviews

Pass this School by. Had my child here for 2 yrs and the standard of education is very poor. Teachers are very unrealistic and do little to help despite the small class sizes. Most teachers are not accrediated in Tx. New Principal did little to improve the School overall. Many parents have left the past few years do to teacher problems.

Immanuel is tucked away in the middle of the Houston Heights. The teachers and staff care about the students. I agree they do strive to meet all the needs of each child in the school. All of my children have attended school there and received a great education and continued on to high school and college. The school offers a sports programs as well as other after school activities. The levels are toddlers through 8th grade. I would recommend this school to anyone who would like their child to receive a great education and be in a safe and caring enviroment.

Immanuel is the best kept secret in Houston. The staff strives to meet the needs of all the students. I have one child that has graduated from Immanuel and she is doing great in High school. I thank her teachers and Immanuel for that.

Immanuel is not what I expected it to be. The learning is not accelerated with the technology of today. The discipline is okay, but I believe the teachers show lots of favoritism. I really did not like the idea that they place teachers in the position of principals just to fill in an empty space, therefore the teachers have double responsibilities and can not focus on the academics of the students. On the behalf of sports, they really do not have coaches with experience to teach the fundamentals of any of the sports that they offer. The manpower is very limited at this school. My children attended there for five years and it was only for convenience, which I regret doing now. This is a school that is not what it appears to be. I would not reccommend it to anyone.

The teachers at Immanuel are outstanding. If you want a Christian school that trains children academically and beyond, then this is the place to be.

ILS is a great academic school & my kids love attending there. They are challenged in every aspect of their work and are excelling thanks to their wonderful teachers. The 8th grade teacher is the best & my 13 year old loves school again! My 2nd grader is also excelling, due to his great teacher. The church is also a big part of our lives there. I love the fact that my kids are shown how Christianity factors into everyday life and that they have the freedom to express their love of God. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a good Christian Private School
