The Joy School Reviews

There is nothing like it! EVERYONE there truly cares about each and every child AND his/her family. There are no words to describe how lucky we are to have these wonderful teachers and staff members in our lives!

My child recently attended summer school at The Joy School. He learned more in his first week there than he did his entire last year at Kindergarten. The school provides the right balance of structure, care, and multisensory learning techniques to help children with learning difficulties overcome their challenges. He was excited to go to school each day and was extremely proud of the work he did. During the 6 week period he went from being unable to sound out words and having illegible handwriting to being able to read books of few words using good word attack skills and being able to write his news of the day with spelling assistance. The teachers found progressively more challenging work for him to steadily increase his skills while minimizing frustration. Highly recommended.

The Joy School is a phenomenal place for rebuilding the self esteem of students who have failed elsewhere. The teachers are all top-notch...the most professional, yet comfortable environment for learning in Houston.

This small school is aptly named. For a child frustrated with their learning disabilities and a public school system not willing to provide adequate remedies this school is a blessing. The teachers and staff are incredible! Small class size, great interaction with all staff and students, great parent involvement. Parental involvement is encouraged and may opportunities are available. After years of frustration and tears my son can now read and looks forward to school each day. He has made some close friends and will even do his homework without being asked! Thanks to the joy school I have my child back!
