Lamkin Elementary School Reviews

Great School , Love the teachers, my kids have enjoyed every day of school and I appreciate the proffessional and courteous attitude of the teachers toeard students and parents.

Going on our 2nd year with this school, and cannot wait to move so we can get our child out of there! If you have any concerns or disagree with school 'policy,' rest assured you will be treated badly for not agreeing with their ways. They don't want you or your child to have a voice. It's their way and that's it!

I love this school !!!! The teachers are so great with the students. I have four children who go there and they are so excited to be going back next week.

Lamkin has been around a long time. It still runs with respect leadership morales and dignity. Mrs. Parker is a wonderful principal. Ima blessed to have my Grandson go there. This will be his last year. Thank you Lamkin for making my Grandson a A and B Student. Love to all of you at Lamkin.

Lamkin elementary is a truly fantastic school. We moved here from Oklahoma after the Thanksgiving holidays. At first I did no what to except of the schools here in Cypress, and did even know what open concept was. And on my son first day of school the teachers and staff treated him like he was part of the Leopards family. He told me Lamkin Rocks. The teachers are wonderful at providing quality academic curriculum and programs. The principal is a wonderful lady with always a friendly smile. Teachers and staff are very caring they go above and beyond to help the students and parents. Mrs Molnoskey and Mrs Montano are excellent teachers they are the best. But so are all the other teachers. This was our last year , but it is a truly wonderful school for your kids.

I understand the frustration in moving classrooms but trust me, Lamkin is doing it for the sake of the children. Open concept is hard for some kids and when you get more than 20 kids in a class, it makes it even worse. Lamkin took care of this situation by hiring more teachers to make the classrooms smaller. I think you have to be VERY involved with your child's education as well as being up front and open about your frustrations with the administration in order to feel like something is being accomplished. Speak your mind. Nobody knows if no one ever says anything. My child is in his 3rd year at Lamkin and he loves it. I will continue to support him as well as his teachers and all the teachers. They are the future for our kids. Let's help them in any way we can.

My daughter is in the 4th grade at Lamkin. She has changed homeroom twice in one school year because of over-crowding. Needless to say she will not be attending Lamkin again next year. Yes there are a few good teachers so you better pray your child receive one of those teachers, if not you are set your child up for failure. Most of the teacher are horrible.

We transferred from another Texas county, and my child is 9 months ahead in studies over the students in his class. The teachers have no idea what they are teaching in regards to mathematics, spelling, and reading. There is no AR program to encourage children to keep reading. Based on schools nearby, why is this school's scores so low? Several children in my child's class are being tutored because they cannot understand the teachings. If other district schools are also open-concept, then what methods have the other schools employed to ensure that the students are gaining and retaining, and why can't Lamkin do the same? The teachers are Only teaching them to pass the TAKS tests, but not teaching them the curriculum to aid them in future classes. I'm removing my child from this school ASAP before it becomes detrimental to his ability to learn and to what he's already learnedfromEllisCO,TX.

My child attended Lamkin for 2 years. We felt the teachers were very overwhelmed by the open concept of this school. There was no personal space for the students or the teachers. The overall feel of the school was unfriendly. Lunches were oftentimes made silent because a few kids talked a little to loudly. We were lucky enough to move out of state, but many friends made the choice to homeschool or pay for private schools. Bullying was also a major issue here.

Lamkin is a wonderful school! Great administrators, great teachers and great parental involvement. Very welcoming to parents and students alike. Academically, they identify students who need extra help and provide the help for them. They also identify the ones who need to be challenged more and provide the challenges for them. I have children in both of these areas and they excelled while at Lamkin. We are now living in another state and truly miss all aspects of Lamkin Elementary! It is definitely a great school!

My sons have both attended Lamkin. My wife also teaches there. I have been very impressed with the expectatioons of the staff, as well as the kindness and gentleness expressed to every student.

My daughter is in Courtney Myers class and she is absolutely the best teacher that I have ever been around. Thanks!
