Fiest Elementary School Reviews

Fiest may have been a mighty elementary school at one time, but the times are changing. The teachers and faculty are nice and caring, but the system seems to have taken over and they seem to be held back. Teachers will have conferences with parents but always appear to be on the defense. I blame the all-mighty Cy-Fair school district. It's just too large. Gone are the days when teachers could truly individualize a program for their students. Homework is daily district-made worksheets (no textbook for students or parents to reference) that is consistently full of misspelled words, typos, etc. There's no website to go to for resources and without textbooks how can we help the school help our students. There is a PTO (a soccer mom club that arranges for social events and some fund-raising) but there's no true school-parent interaction/collaboration. Nor do they know what true GT program is.

Fiest Elementary is so lucky to have Mrs. Reynolds on board! She is the most organized, calm, soft spoken, concerned and sweetest teacher I've ever met. She motivates learning and good behavior through praise, games, songs, and her nuturing manner. Both of my daughters were very fortunate to spend a school year with Mrs. Reynolds. I will always be grateful that their first school year was so positive and memorable. Laura Friend

Fiest could do with a teacher over hall. It is a shame that the school has not been able to maintain younger and more enthusiastic teachers. When I visit other schools within Cyfair there is a total air of difference toward the students and teachers. Fiest is so depressing and lacks the necessary attitude to foster young minds. The open classrooms are so disruptive to the point that it needs to be remodeled and walls added where walls should be.

I was the speech path at this school last year. After moving to another state and working elsewhere I have to say that Cy Fair has a great system of checks and balances that help prevent children with special needs from falling through the cracks. I miss working there and miss the help I got from the 'invisible' office staff like Mrs. Grant!

My daughter attended this school for Kinder and 1st, she was in love with this school. The staff, teachers, and curriculum are excellent!!!! Bravo Cy-Fair!!! Educating Well Done!!!!

One of our children entered kindergarten in 1994 and the other one is leaving 5th grade in 2008 and the school is as good now as ever. Much credit is due to those veteran teachers who have been there 15+ years, as well as the involved parents and community!

I think this school is great! They are very organized and their kindergarten is fabulous!

Great new principal. Dedicated teachers. Caring atmosphere. Cy-Fair curriculum is the best in the state of Texas. Children can't help but learn.

My six year old son and I both feel fortunate that he was able to attend kindergarten at Fiest this past year. I personally can hardly believe how much he s learned and grown over the past year. He s gone from being a reluctant reader of some three-and-four letter words to being an eager, excited, and nearly independent reader of almost everything he can get his hands on! The things he s studied in school this year have been so varied, and so advanced! His favorite topic this year was 'space'. I never would have believed kindergartners to be capable of understanding some of the topics they ve studied, but apparently they are, and the teachers aren't afrai to teach it. The questions he asks me now are so advanced that I often don t know the answers myself, and we have to look the answers up on the computer!

Wonderful school, understanding and caring teachers!

My son and daughter are attending Fiest for just one month and thus far, I am impress with the school.

I have two children that went to Fiest, one is currently in 4th grade and has been there since the end of Kindergarten. This is a great school. The teachers are always involved and so are the parents! Coming from PISD, I can say, Fiest is above average!

Our child went to this school for two years and loved it, we ended up moving, but still miss all the great teachers and kids and warm atmosphere of the school. Thanks Mrs. Kapsen, you're a great teacher!
