Colony Meadows Elementary School Reviews

CME is a great school . Both of my children attend the school after spending all of their previous schooling overseas. The teachers and staff are caring and excellent.

My son came to this school just 3 months back from another FBISD school, but personally i found more co-operative staff here than the other Exemplery school he was going ,before coming to this school.I'm glad to have my son in Colony meadows.

I went to this school, And it is great. More activities than most schools, Makes you never left-out. I am going to Middle School now. I sure will MISS CME. And, this place is not only for special needs, I don't, And I still LOVE this school.

Even though this school is a great place for special ed students it has an awful gifted & talented program! Unless your student has special needs do not send them to this school!

My children had a great year at Colony Meadows. They worked hard to catch up to the high academic standard at Colony Meadows but by the end of the year thanks to their teachers support and encouragement, they were very succesful. The arts program was wonderful. My only critisism is that the extra school curricular activities were lacking as well as sports.

Colony meadows is an excellent school. My daughter has been in this school for 2 years now. She loves the place. The teachers are excellent. The management is good too. The quality of academic programs is good. As for the extracurricular activities, music, art and sports they donot stress on. The parents have several oppurtunities to get involved in the school activites.

The leadership of this school is lacking. The front desk is often rude to parent volunteers. If you have a concern the principal will give you a 'pat' answer and then never follow up or get back to your regarding concerns. The staff while veterans with many years experience are not held to a high standard by the adminstration, therefore a lot of 'slacking' occurs. My chlid has watched more Disney videos in school than I care to count. I also have great concerns regarding the envrionmental tone of CME. I have heard teachers yelling at the kids. I have witnessed older grade children eating lunch at silent tables, and then report to study hall. It makes a long day for a child that can't talk or play all day long. Appaulling! It's a lovely place to live, and very high SES neighborhood. It's a shame the principal allows it.

We have been happy with every teacher my daughter has had over the past 5 years. The principal is genuinely concerned about each child. The PTO is very involved and is a major influence to the extra programs. Parents are welcome at any time.

This school is excellent. We moved here a couple of months ago from another state where my child had been attending a private school. He had been really struggling in his private school. Since he has been at Colony Meadows he has improved tremendously. The teachers really care about the children meeting their full potential.

I agree with the previous reviewer regarding the veteran teachers. In my opinion, there is not enough enthusiasm amongst them and it seems some of the newer teachers have followed suit. This school has an unbelievable parent organization and many volunteers which allows for a great teaching environment (one of envy for many schools). I don't think the teachers bring enough energy and creativity to the classrooms. I don't mean to bash the school and the kids certainly get an education and are in a safe environment but given all that I'm disappointed that the teachers don't make more of an effort to make the children more enthusiastic about learning. I want to make it clear that as in all schools there are always those teachers that are remarkable and that whom these comments do not apply. I am simply making remarks on what I have experienced overall.

The school has great students and very involved parents but the veteran teachers are slowing down and as many schools they are worried about average/poor performers so the best performers don't get challenged enough.
