Roberts Elementary School Reviews

We visited 6 exemplary/ recognized schools before purchasing in the Roberts Zone. What was most striking was how the children there seemed genuinely happy. The teachers go above and beyond to make that happen. For example, the music teacher brings her pet singing bird to school everyday and keeps him in the room. She hand pained a 2 story rain forest mural for his backdrop. Seeing it enough to make you cry. After having been there a year, we are still just as pleased, and I was a room mom in my son's class- very involved. The PTO is a large reason for their success. Their large contributions buy things like tap shoes and roller blades for entire grade levels, workshops for teachers, and cutting edge technology. This place is top notch. You can't go wrong sending your kid here.

My son went to Roberts from K to 5. Robets helped him with is speech, and his dyslexia. He has become so confident in his speech he ran for class president! That is not all, the ancillary and after care were great. He adored his Art Club, and Mr. T from P.E. has been a great influence on my son. Roberts has kids from over a dozen differnt nations, and here you see Moms who wear an Islamic Head scarf dropping off their kids, while other kids have Dad's over in Iraq with the Army Reserve, and there has never been a problem. At Roberts everyone gets along. I can't say enough good things about it.

Roberts ES is a great school in HISD. I'm glad my daughter is attanding this school, she has learned and improved a lot. Here I would like to say thanks to the school and teachers, especialy Ms. Nelson.

I have 2 children currently attending Roberts Elementary. There is no otherschool like itbin the city of Houston. As an IB World School, Roberts Elementary educates students from 43 different countries, speaking 23 different languages. My children are exposed to a multitude of cultures and traditions from around the globe. The yeachers receive 'cutting edge' training that differs from all other HISD schools. The work that my children bring home is 'Unbelievable.' Recently, I had the opportunity to visit a different, neighboring, HISD school. It was dark and depressing to say the least. Any one person could enter our school and the walls speak for themselves.

My daughter has just started Kindergarten at Roberts and she is absolutely thrilled to go to school each day. I have found her teacher to be extremely motivated to get the best out of each of the students. The other teachers seem equally motivated to get the best from their students. The types of classes offered in the K year (and all years) compares equally to the best private school in the Houston area. The high parental involvement in all aspects is an added plus. The school-wide extra-curricular activities (International Festival, Carnival and the like) involve the whole school community. The mix of students is impressive and it's IBPYP designation are just icing on the cake. I can't imagine sending my child to any other school.

Outstanding school with a wonderfully diverse student body. Several male teachers (and good role models), including PE and Spanish that teach all students. Very involved parents and nice physical facility. Academics are excellent, only problem is extended day has waiting list.

Wonderful academics, thoughtful and caring staff, dance and music programs were thoroughly enjoyed by my daughters. very involved parents. extended day available

Excellent school. It became an authorized International Baccalaureate - Primary Years Programme school in March 2005. The International Baccalaureate Organization aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

I am very happy with the school's academic program, my child is motivated and eager to go every day. I have been a Roberts Parent for two years and I can say I am very pleased with the School's Overall Quality.

Great school. Fantastic parent involvement from curriculum to school physical plant. Very safe area. DIverse student body, large % of professional parents

Great school with wonderful teachers and a caring principal. One of only 30 elementary schools in the country to be certified for the IB Primary Years Program. And one of a handful of HISD elementary schools to secure an Exemplary from the TEA in 2004.

We are neighborhood students at Roberts as opposed to a magnet student. As a public school in HISD, we are extremely pleased with the education at Roberts. The wide diversity of families is a great real world experience for children. Your child can have an accent, or have a difficult 'foreign' name and at Roberts that is a cool thing! I always thought Roberts was a small school, but just realized by reading greatschool.net, that it is actually larger than average. There is a thight knit community feel to the school because the parent involvement is great. The teacher population is a good mix of men and women with many ethnic populations represented by the faculty and staff. Don't worry, as a fine arts school, your child will also get a good education in math and science. The school's scores in these areas match those of science magnet schools.

My student is a 5th grader at roberts and we have been there since kindergarten. We have only had one year that was not just outstanding. Most of the teachers are kind and helpful with the exception of one who is good if your child is 'perfect' but not wiling to put in the extra effort to support children that need even the slightest bit of extra attention. Over all ithas been a good experience and I have highly recommend this school to friends.

outstanding partent involvement, music, art, dance, computer spanish, libarary, sciance, PE. Gymanistics available. Extended day available. Excellent acadamic.

From active PTO, famous International Festival, and international baccalaureate program, Roberts is the best elementary school to prepare a child in Houston for our open market, multi-national future. Highly impressed everyday!
